The picturesque village of Sneem, where the good life is celebrated every day, is the perfect location to explore the beautiful South-West of Ireland. This area is truly one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland.

The Ring of Kerry is one of Ireland’s best-known attractions. And with good reason, for it takes visitors through magnificent natural beauty. But it’s the lovely contrast between the warmth of the people and the elemental nature of the place that makes it so special, and worth slowing down to explore.

The famous Ring of offers stunning scenery including mystic mountains, rugged coastline, cliffs, beautiful beaches, narrow and bendy roads, colourful villages, and the highest mountain of Ireland Corran Tuathail. Throughout the landscape are ancient forts, castles and monasteries. The warm Gulf Stream gives Kerry a balmy climate and makes it a welcome home to subtropical vegetation that colour the countryside.

When exploring the Ring of Kerry, make sure not to miss the following:

Derrynane Beach & Gardens, Coomakista, Waterville, the Skellig Ring coastal drive, Portmagee, Valentia Island,

Cahergal Ring Fort near Caherciveen, Killarney National Park

The Dingle peninsula is well worth a visit, and makes a nice day trip when you're staying at Athas House. Visit Inch Beach, the famous Slea Head coastal drive, ancient Beehive huts, famine cottages, Dunquin Pier, Gallarus Oratory, and the Conor Pass. The west of Dingle is a Gaeltacht, or Irish speaking area, where the traditional language is still spoken every day. Dingle Town is packed with colorful houses, shops and pubs and is set around a fishing port and marina.

The Beara Pensinsula is a beautiful part of Ireland that still isn't discovered by tourists. It is quiet, rugged, and it feels like time has stood still. Travel along miles and miles of narrow roads offering fab views of the Atlantic. Walk through colorful villages like Ardgroom and Eyeries. Visit the Uragh Stone Circle. Stop for a Seafood chowder and pint of the black stuff at McCarthys Bar in Castletownbere. And on your way back to Sneem, take the windy Healy Pass mountain road that connects counties Cork and Kerry. Mind the sheep :)

Killarney National Park is one of Ireland’s best-loved parks. Beautiful lakes, Ireland's highest mountain range, the Victorian Muckross House, medieval Ross Castle, Torc Waterfall, the ruins of Muckross Abbey ... there is lots to explore in the Park! "This holiday home was better than expected. It's a beautiful home in a remote location with a very private feeling. The flowers and view at the property are absolutely gorgeous. The home's interior is extremely spacious with an extra large kitchen, bedrooms, dining table, and a cozy living room perfect for relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and daydreamed about coming back to stay even longer. If you're looking for a place to stay off the Ring of Kerry, this is it"
